About the Program

Hitmakerz is happy to announce a new series of in-person modelling workshops.

During this full-day program, participants receive guidance from professional model, Fatima Thioye, and go through many training exercises in order to prepare them for a career in modelling.

After training, models will do a test shoot and runway presentation. The performances are showcased for the entire group of participants and feedback is be presented. During the event, photos are taken and all participants receive copies of them for immediate release, post-production, portfolio, submissions, etc.

Participants will receive tips and tricks from the Ottawa-based entertainment lawyer, Byron Pascoe of Edwards Creative Law, as well as the other industry professionals.

Housekeeping Items

  • The event will be hosted in Ottawa. The address – which will be sent to participants ahead of the event – is easily accessible by public transportation and has ample parking space available.

  • Breakfast and lunch will be provided, as well as coffee, tea, and snacks.

  • Attendees should arrive dressed in casting attire.

    Women: Black or white top, skinny jeans or skirt and heels and light makeup.

    Men: Plain black or white T-shirt, jeans or simple pants.

    Attendees should bring various clothing and accessories options for photoshoot and runway portion (tops, pants, skirts, hats, sunglasses, jackets...), makeup, a mirror, as well as something to write with(paper/pen, iPad, etc.).

  • Due to the ongoing pandemic, all participants must be able to provide proof of both Covid-19 vaccinations 2 weeks prior to the event.

Instructor Bios

Fatima

Fatima (Tima) Thioye is a 24 year old professional model from Ottawa, ON. She started off her career after winning an online contest and signed her first contract at the age of 16, with Models International Management. Since then she has signed to one of the top agencies in the world, Elite Models and worked with some of the largest names in the Canadian fashion industry such as Aldo, Simons, Little Burgundy, BonLook, Shoppers Drug Mart..etc. Her passion for modelling has taken her all over the world from United States, Milan to Seoul. While actively pursing her modelling career, Fatima has earned a bachelor's degree in communications and media studies, and she is currently pursing her MBA at McMaster University.
