Hitmakerz is a lifestyle company whose primary concern is to ensure the health and happiness of our team (the "family"), which includes executives, administrators, touring coordinators, recording artists, music producers, interns, etc. Our company’s cultural values include Family/Loyalty, Respect/Kindness/Inclusion, Trust/Honesty, Joy, Ambition/Hustle, Quality, Humility, and Growth. We believe making our Code Of Conduct available publicly promotes transparency and accountability to the standard we hold our artists and team members to.
Code of Conduct
Punctuality
Respect the time of the Hitmakerz team, third-party contacts, and other artists. It is very important to communicate with the label executives with the same consideration and professionalism you would expect from another music industry professional. These skills and habits will prepare you for higher stakes activities, like media interviews, dealing with fans, working at venues, etc.
Be punctual and prepared for all calls, meetings, concerts, etc.
Give a minimum of 24 hours notice if you are unable to attend a scheduled event. If it's an emergency situation, please contact the people involved as soon as possible to let them know you will not be available to make it.
Absenteeism without proof of emergency will result in a warning.
After three consecutive warnings, a review will be held to assess your status on the label and any necessary course of action in greater detail. Unprofessional behaviour or poor attendance may result in loss of opportunities and/or label support and affiliation.
Respectful Conduct
Everyone is expected to treat each other with respect and kindness at all times.
There is an absolutely zero-tolerance policy for discrimination, sexual harassment, mental/emotional abuse, unnecessary drama, and/or violence. If you would like to report a concern, please privately and confidentially discuss the matter with label staff or request an investigation. Appropriate disciplinary actions will be determined with the possibility of the offender being publicly dropped from the label.
Guiding Principles
If applicable, try to encourage one another, for example, the positive messages that occur in the Hitmakerz Family group chat on Facebook Messenger.
Have a strong work ethic and be present when you are collaborating with other people, try to do your best and take pride in your work.
Remain humble and listen to what others have to say. Do not let your ego get in the way during professional situations.
Continuous learning and self-improvement is important to Hitmakerz, both personally and as a team. Be willing to take feedback and work on addressing constructive criticism in a respectful, reasonable way when necessary.
Try to be honest and act truthfully with the team, your fans, and the other professionals we work with.
Confidentiality and Social Media Protocols
Do not share or post personal photos, videos, or stories about the other Hitmakerz team members without their consent, unless it was already made available publicly by the team member and/or created explicitly for public audiences.
Do not post anything discriminatory such as hate speech, threats, harassment, bullying, lateral violence, or defamatory content.
Do not share any confidential information with people outside the label, unless explicitly given permission beforehand.
Alcohol and Substance Use
Do not consume alcohol or drugs during Hitmakerz company events (ex. The Hitmakerz Compound), training sessions, tours, or concerts. (Exceptions of cannabis can be made with case-by-case approval from label staff.)
Do not let substance use influence your performance or professionalism in work settings. Doing so will result in a review to discuss the incident and decide on a course of action.
