“Inuit Bedtime Stories” hip-hop album inspired by traditional legends.

Inuit artist Legacy (Kobe Aknavigak) has officially completed his debut rap album Inuit Bedtime Stories, a powerful project rooted in traditional Inuit legends and storytelling.

Recorded in Ottawa with producer Tev Sound, the album features six original tracks: Lumaajuuq, Mahaha, Qalupiluq, String Game, Little Inuks, and Uvajuq. The project blends contemporary hip-hop with cultural narratives, bringing Inuit stories to new audiences through music.

The project marks a major milestone in Legacy’s 10-year music journey and reflects a deliberate shift toward storytelling and cultural expression.

“My goal with this album was to share our stories and inspire others,” says Legacy. “I want to leave something meaningful behind.”

The project was supported and managed by Hitmakerz, providing development, production, and training services . It was made possible with support from the Government of Nunavut and distributed on CD Baby.

Legacy is now preparing for the next phase of his career to share his music with a wider, global audiences.
