Inuk TikToker Releases Uplifting New Single

Pop singer-songwriter and TikTok influencer, Brenda Montana – also known by her TikTok username @inuksuk – has released “Love Is All Around Us” as the latest single from her debut album, Qaujimagit.
“Love Is All Around Us” is an uplifting alternative-pop song, with lyrics in both English and Inuktitut. Montana’s sweet, dreamy vocals instill a message of positivity and hope in listeners.
“I just noticed that a lot of my family was sad and I wanted to remind them to stay positive,” said Montana, about writing the song. “It was for them.”
An earlier iteration of “Love Is All Around Us” was one of the very first songs Montana ever wrote and was a winner at the Qilaut songwriting contest. The song was revamped when Thor Simonsen (Kelly Fraser, Aasiva, Joey Nowyuk) and Tev Bourque (Birdie Whyte, John Carroll, Amanda Lowe) produced the track.
Financial support for the project was provided by The Government of Nunavut.
“Love Is All Around Us” comes on the heels of Montana’s single, “Together As One,” which was released last month. Both are set to be released as part of Montana’s debut album, Qaujimagit. Writing songs for the people she loves – her friends, family, and community – is the overarching theme of Montana’s upcoming album. The seven-track record will be released on August 26, 2022.
Although new to the recorded music scene, Montana has been making a name for herself online for years. On TikTok, she is known for her music and comedy videos that showcase different aspects of Inuit culture, from food to throat singing. The TikToker, who is originally from Rankin Inlet, Nunavut and now based in Iqaluit, has over 120,000 followers and over 2 million likes across all videos, with her most popular video reaching 1.2 million views and over 260,000 likes.
