New Inuktitut Love Anthem on Valentine’s Day

Nunavut rapper, Shauna Seeteenak, releases the first single from her debut album. “Better With You (feat. Aasiva)” will be available on all streaming platforms on February 14, 2021.

Written during difficult times spent apart, the lyrics contain messages of love to Shauna’s long-time partner (her "queen"), giving listeners a glimpse into their beautiful life together in the Canadian Arctic. The music is a smooth blend of rap and pop, and the song features a dreamy Inuktitut hook by fellow Inuk artist, Aasiva (lyrics and translations are available at http://bit.ly/2MoHvYu).

It's the first single from Shauna’s debut album, “Therapy Sessions”, which will be released in early 2021. The song was produced by Thor Simonsen (Joey Nowyuk, Kelly Fraser), mixed by Dale Penner (Nickelback, Dave Matthews Band), and mastered by João Carvalho (The Tragically Hip, Carly Rae Jepsen). The album will be released on the Iqaluit-based record label, Hitmakerz, and distributed to all streaming platforms through CD Baby. The single and album were both made possible with financial support from the Government of Nunavut.

Shauna Seeteenak is an Inuk hip-hop artist and political rapper, originally from Baker Lake, Nunavut.
